A native of the Springfield area, Connie grew up in the Ozarks. She has lived abroad in Trinidad, West Indies; and Suriname, South America. While in Suriname, she built her own restaurants from the ground up, employing 38 people and was the first company in that country to market pizza, fried chicken and the "fast-food" concept. In 1983, due to a revolution and military coup, Connie made her escape from Suriname in a canoe. She then made her way back to Springfield in December 1983 where she stepped off the plane with four quarters in her pocket and started rebuilding her life.
Connie worked for Shoney's national restaurant chain from March 1984 to January 1986 where she became manager of their National & Battlefield store in that short time. She has been licensed by the state of Missouri as a realtor/salesperson since January 1986. Connie has since produced over $207 Million in sales.
She is one of the top listing and selling agents in the state of Missouri and the Springfield Board of Realtors.
She was inducted into the Mike Ferry Hall of Fame in 1993. This award is given for consistently closing over 75 transactions yearly, for sharing and helping other Realtors excel in their profession, and for rendering excellent service to her clients.
Connie is a member of the State Women's Business Council and the National Women's Business Council.
She completed 90 hours of study and received the Graduate Realtors Institute (GRI) designation and also completed 120 hours of study to receive the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) Designation. Connie is a member of the Springfield Board of Realtors, the Missouri Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. She has been in the "Who's Who in Residential Real Estate in North America" by Real Trends since 1995. Connie has been awarded the Top Pro Certification by the National Relocation and Real Estate Magazine since 1995 for residential Real Estate accomplishments. She is listed as a member in the National Register's of Who's Who in Executives and Professionals.
She now lives on the family farm where she was born, west of Nixa and south of Clever, next door to her mother, Loretta Geren. Connie has one daughter,Cathy, and three "fantastic" grandchildren, Johnna Fae, Jerry Ray, and Stefani Kay. And one great-grandson named Jerry Ray Jr. She enjoys writing, fishing, swimming, walking, reading, music and photography.
